External Linkage

This is a function of ptsNotes S60 that cooperate with Japanese input system KKJConv written in Java.

This function is activated by invoking 'External Linkage' menu item.

File name E:\Documents\ptsNotesQuick.txt is reserved for this function. This file has the note content in flat text file. This file is erased automatically after use. Perhaps this file still remain when the ptsNotes is terminated unexpectedly. Please care about that.

The setting of external linkage is effective until the note editor is closed. The ptsNotes shows a confirmation dialog about the memo content is put in a file at the first invocation of 'External Linkage' menu item after the ptsNotes start-up.

External Linkage Operation of the ptsNotes S60
  • The note content is saved in file E:\Documents\ptsNotesQuick.txt at task switch from ptsNotes editor screen to other application.
  • When the ptsNotes editor screen is displayed by task switch from other application file E:\Documents\ptsNotesQuick.txt is loaded into editor screen.
Cooperation with KKJConv
  • Start-up the ptsNotes and the KKJConv.
  • Open the note editor screen of the ptsNotes.
  • Invoke 'External Linkage' menu item.
  • Switch to the KKJConv by task menu.
  • Invoke 'Quick Load' menu item of the KKJConv to load the note content (you will see error message if note content is empty).
  • Edit the text by the KKJConv and invoke 'Quick Save' menu item.
  • The content of the change by the KKJConv is automatically reflected when returning to the ptsNotes by task menu.
